Shanghai Increases Computer Export

Shanghai's export of computers and parts from January to July reached 1.4 billion US dollars, 37.4 percent up from the same period of last year, according to statistics from the customs.

Processing trade remained an overwhelming sector in the export of computers, taking up 99 percent of the total volume.

The United States and the Netherlands were the two major export destinations, followed by Japan and Hong Kong.

Foreign-funded enterprises are major computer exporters, totaling 1.34 billion U.S. dollars in volume.
