China Unicom Opens Data Network
China Unicom, one of the largest telecom operators in China, announced Wednesday that it has opened its data network CNUninet/165.
A company official said that his company will list data communication high on its development plan and will invest more in this sector in the future.
CNUinet is a wide-band multi-business platform. So far, several businesses have been operating on the network such as IP telephone and frame relay services.
According to China Unicom, CNUninet now has 47,000-km-long backbone fiber cables covering 127 cities in 30 provinces.
