Chinese to Apply for Right to Host 2003 Women's World Cup

After competing with Australia for the rights to host the 2000 Olympics, next month China will compete with Australia again for the right to host the 2003 Women's World Cup.

The International Football Union Executive Committee meet on August 3, to research and discuss which continent's turn it is to host the Men's World Cup as well as the 2003 Women's World Cup.

To date, China and Australia are the only two countries competing for the honor of hosting the games. To increase the chances of winning the bid, CFA vice-chairman Yan Shize will go abroad for the first time, to direct the application process at the front lines.

It is said that if the China Football Association loses the bid to hold the Women's World Cup to Australia, the CFA will endeavor to apply for holding next International Football Union League Cup Match, World Club Cup Match and International Football Union 1st Women Football World Youth Title Match.
