In addition to its four international ocean optical cables, Shanghai will soon have anther ocean optical cable.

The No. 2 Asia-Pacific Optical Cable will land in Shanghai in November and be put into use next year, according to sources with Shanghai Telecom.

The cable, with a message transmission capacity of 2560G, enables 30 million people to communicate with each other simultaneously, greatly raising the efficiency.
