Top Chinese leader Li Ruihuan has urged senior officials and experts from 150 Chinese cities to better improve the management of urban development.
In a letter to the officials and experts at the Fourth Session of the China Urban Development Society, Li said China should make all efforts to learn from overseas countries. Detailed studies should also be done to explore further and improve the management of China's urban development.
Li, member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, said as China continues to modernize, the general public place more demands on its cities. It is crucial that measures are implemented to improve urban management, beautify the environment and improve the educational level of the urban population. The three-day meeting will conclude tomorrow in Shenzhen, in the southern province of Guangdong.
