Chinese President Greets Russian National Day
Chinese President Jiang Zemin Monday hailed the establishment and development of the strategic and cooperative partnership between China and Russia as a correct historic choice.
In a message sent to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Russia's National Day which falls on Monday, Jiang said that building and developing such a partnership between the two neighbors is "a right historic choice the two peoples have made."
He assured that with joint efforts, Sino-Russian relations will continue to prosper in the new century.
Extending his congratulations on Russia and its people on the occasion of Russia's National Day, Jiang said he would like to send his best wishes to the Russian people on behalf of the Chinese government and the people and in his own name.
He expressed the belief that under President Putin's leadership, the hard-working and intelligent Russian people would make great achievements in making their country even more dynamic.
