Canadian Warships Conclude China Visit

Two Canadian warships, an area air defense destroyer Algonquin and a patrol frigate Winnipeg, led by K. F. McMillan, Commander of the Canadian Pacific Fleet, concluded their China visit and left Thursday.

During their stay, Zhang Dingfa, commander of the North Sea Fleet of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, and Qingdao Mayor Wang Jiarui met with McMillan and other officers.

The crew members of the Canadian vessels visited a navy academy, a navy museum, and scenic sites in Qingdao, a port city in east China's Shandong Province.

This is the fourth visit by Canadian warships to China.
