Fuzhou to Host International Investment Fair

Fuzhou, the capital city of east China's Fujian Province will host its annual international trade and investment fair in May.

The month-long 2000 Fuzhou International Trade and Investment Fair will provide a total of 319 potential investment projects worth 10.48 billion U.S. dollars, according to a press conference held recently in Shanghai.

This year's fair, the seventh of its kind, coincides with a series of economic and technological exchange activities including the Cross-Straits High-tech Development Fair, investment and trade seminars, mayors' forum, tourism promotion program and Internet investment projects.

A senior local official said that since the city initiated the first trade and investment fair in 1994, the annual event has become a major venue for Fuzhou in attracting overseas capital and creating business opportunities.
