China "Take Good Care of Forests and Greens" Drive Launched in China

The drive, as is implied by its theme, jointly sponsored by the State Forestry Administration, State Administration of Radio, Film TV, Forestry Fund Committee, Forestry Committee and CPPCC Population, Resources and Environment Committee, has been launched throughout China since February 15.

Li Ruihuan, Standing Committee member of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of CPPCC National Committee gave his important comments on the drive as one of "Great significance, initial success has been made, unremitting efforts are needed". Zhao Nanqi, vice chairman of the 9th CPPCC National Committee and chairman of the "Take Good Care of Forests and Greens" Drive Committee, made a speech at the start-up ceremony.

Since last July, a series of publicity activities with a combined effort made by central news agencies and leading departments to arouse people's attention to forestry ecological construction have been carried out in China. A follow-up effort of this is now the strategy to "Open up the West, Give First Priority to Ecology Construction" in Western China.
