BBC: China confirms leadership change

Xi Jinping’s election as general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee marks the official passing of power from one generation to the next, the BBC commented.

Xi led the other newly-elected members of the Standing Committee of the 18th CPC Central Committee Political Bureau out onto the stage at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, signaling his elevation to the top of China's ruling Communist Party, the BBC said.(Li Xiang)
