Tower crane at construction site in China's Xi'an falls to prefab houses

High winds brought by a sudden thunderstorm resulted in the deaths of four people Thursday morning in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, local authorities said.

Around 1:30 a.m., a tower crane at a construction site in the Baqiao District of the city of Xi'an fell on a worker dormitory due to strong winds, the municipal government said.

Four people were killed and another four were injured.

The injured have been taken to a local hospital.

The high winds also knocked down several trees, as well as cut off power in some areas.
