GUIYANG, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Three villagers have died and five others are missing after a landslide in southwest China's Guizhou Province on Saturday afternoon, local authorities said.
Eight villagers were buried after the landslide hit Mawo Village near Bijie City at 12:50 p.m., according to an official with the publicity bureau of Bijie's Qixingguan District, which administers the village.
One villager was pulled out alive but died en route to hospital while two others were found dead, the official said, adding that rescue efforts are underway to rescue the remaining five who are buried.
