BEIJING, April 26, (ChinaMil) -- The Chinese peacekeeping forces to Darfur of Sudan conducted a joint security drill on "dealing with sudden militant attacks" along with the Bangladesh reserved infantry detachment upon their rotation and handover on the afternoon of April 24, 2013.
The drill took encountering sudden attacks by sporadic unidentified militants when a construction team was on its way of maneuvering as the background.
The Bangladesh reserved infantry detachment and the Chinese guard detachment rushed to the site and covered the vehicle fleet of our side to pass by rapidly.
Some vehicles were damaged by militants' firepower during the process. The Chinese and Bangladesh sides took the tactics of confrontation and negotiation according to the United Nations’ Regulations on Rules of Engagement and carried out emergency repair for the damaged vehicles.
At the same time, the medical personnel with the detachments quickly went out and carried out emergency rescue and evacuation for the wounded guards.
Under the deterrence of the joint firepower of the Chinese and Bangladesh sides, the unidentified militants were finally beaten back.
