BEIJING, April 26 (Xinhua) -- More foreign leaders offered condolences to Chinese leaders on Thursday and Friday as the country continued to deal with the aftermath of a deadly earthquake in its southwestern Sichuan province.
Those offering their sympathies included Equatorial Guinea President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo; Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili; Croatian President Ivo Josipovic; Slovennian President Borut Pahor; Cape Verde Prime Minister Jose Maria Pereira Neves; Barbadian Prime Minister Freundel Stuart; Indonesia's House of Representatives Speaker Marzuki Alie; Italy's Chamber of Deputies President Laura Boldrini; Cape Verde National Assembly President Basilio Mosso Ramos; and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark.
Meanwhile, Bosnia and Herzegovina deputy prime minister and foreign minister, Croatian deputy prime minister for home, foreign and european policies, and the foreign ministers of Angola, Cape Verde, Argentina, Albania, Estonia and Malta as well as countries such as the Philippines also offered condolences to Chinese leaders.
A 7.0-magnitude earthquake jolted Lushan County of China's Sichuan province on Saturday, claiming 196 lives and leaving 13,484 injured and 21 others unaccounted for.
