A total of 50 passengers were injured when a Yuntong 101 bus rear-ended a No.347 bus near Xipingzhuang bus station on Xingshikou Lu, Haidian district at 7:50 am Monday, the Legal Mirror reported Monday.

The driver of the Yuntong 101 bus said he was entering the station area when the No.347 bus in front of him suddenly stopped, and he was unable to brake in time to prevent the collision.

The 50 injured passengers, 23 males and 27 females, were sent to five nearby hospitals. Hospital emergency room staff members said that the passengers had mostly sustained slight injuries to their arms or legs.
