A pack of South Korean teens on vacation grabbed liquor and cigarettes from a convenience store in the Sanyuanqiao area and dashed off, leaving the saleswoman traumatized and unable to work, her husband told the Global Times Sunday.

Beijing police said the incident was due to a "misunderstanding" and is now settled.

More than 30 South Korean teenagers took items from a Hi-24 convenience store in Zuojiazhuang, Chaoyang district, said a member of staff Sunday, who would not give her name.

The on-duty sales clerk, surnamed Huang, was so frightened by the incident that she still cannot work, said the Hi-24 staff member.

"When I came to the spot that day, I saw my wife [Huang] crying. As the only female in charge of the store alone, she was bitterly frightened. Now she is still resting at home," said Huang's husband, surnamed Guan.

The items taken were worth 1,740 yuan ($279), according to the Beijing Times Saturday.
