Blackmail lover jailed

A 22-year-old woman was sentenced to three years in jail at Tongzhou district court for blackmail and extortion, reported the Legal Mirror Sunday.

Wang Ting asked her former lover, surnamed Li, for 300,000 yuan, and threatened to ruin his career and family. According to Wang, Li stopped seeing her after she had an abortion, and he gave her 200,000 yuan as compensation in April, 2011.

Wang was arrested at the bank when she went to collect her payoff on June, 6.
