Baby born in taxi

A pregnant woman gave birth to a baby boy in a taxi Wednesday morning, local media reported.

The new baby was born three weeks earlier than expected. The new parents and the taxi driver sought help from a patrolman while the taxi was driving through Hongkou district. Police escorted the taxi through traffic during morning rush hour.

Medical staff from a nearby hospital provided emergency treatment to the mother and baby in the taxi. The mother was later sent to a hospital for further treatment. Both the mother and the baby are in stable condition.
