BEIJING, December 6 (ChinaMil) -- A Chinese Red Cross international rescue team consisting of 13 professional medical personnel from the General Hospital of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force (APF) and 6 experts from the Red Cross Society of China is scheduled to fly to Tacloban city of the Philippines on December 6, 2013 to carry out a 21-day-long humanitarian aid.
It is said that the rescue team is the second one dispatched by the Red Cross Society of China, and it will carry medicines worth over 350,000 yuan and medical devices valued at more than 700,000 yuan to carry out medical aid in the disaster area.
Members of the rescue team have rich experience in rescue work at disaster-hit areas at both home and abroad.
