KARACHI, July 30 (ChinaMil) -- The "Peace Ark" hospital ship of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAN), currently carrying out the task of "Harmonious Mission -- 2013", arrived at the Karachi Port in Pakistan, the 4th stop of the mission, on July 29 to begin a six-day-long goodwill visit and humanitarian medical services.
During the visit, the hospital ship will dispatch medical detachments to offer fixed-point medical services at the Sifa Hospital of the Pakistani Navy, make medical visit to a military training center of Pakistan, and implement surgery jointly with Pakistani medial staff. In addition, the dispatched medical detachments will also visit local schools for special children to offer them with medical services and donation.
Medical services kicked off immediately after the welcoming ceremony held by the Pakistani side. Some of the embassy and consulate staff, people from the Chinese-funded institutions, and overseas Chinese as well as the personnel from Pakistani side boarded the "Peace Ark" hospital ship for visit and for physical examination and treatment.
The hospital ship departed for Karachi Port on July 26 after successfully completing the mission of providing medical services for the officers and men of the escort taskforces of various countries. After its visit to Pakistan, the hospital ship will also travel to India and other countries to provide medical services for local people.
