BEIJING, July 29 (ChinaMil) -- The reporter of the PLA Daily learnt from the Directing Department of the Chinese side of the China-Russia joint military exercise codenamed "Peace Mission 2013" that the 33-member advance force of the Chinese troops participating in the joint anti-terrorism military exercise flew to the Chelyabinsk Shagol Airport of Russia at 11:30 on July 27, 2013, local time. Afterwards, the advanced force rushed to the exercise area of the Chebarkul Training Base of Russia's Central Military Area Command, and the Russian side held a grand welcome ceremony for them at the airport.
It is learnt that the advance force is led by Zhang Yan, deputy chief director of the Directing Department of the Chinese side and deputy chief of staff of the Shenyang Military Area Command (MAC) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), and composed of commanders from such troop units of the Chinese side as the Directing Department, the Campaign Headquarters, the army battle group, the air force battle group, the comprehensive support group and the air force support sub-group, etc.
After its arrival at the exercise area, the advance force will carry out related works according to the consensus reached by China and Russia through negotiation, so as to offer coordinated support for the arrival of the following participating troops of the Chinese side.
The advance force set out in an airplane of the PLA Air Force from the Shenyang Taoxian International Airport at 08:00 on July 27, Beijing time. The airplane arrived in Russia's Chelyabinsk Shagol Airport after stopping at the Urumqi Diwopu International Airport and the Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport.
