BEIJING, May 22, (ChinaMil) -- China and India recently published a "Joint Statement" that both sides support the complete prohibition and thorough disposal of all nuclear weapons. Both sides have agreed to hold a new round of joint training later this year.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to pushing forward the progress of multilateral arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation, giving support to the complete prohibition and thorough disposal of all nuclear weapons, and opposing the weaponization of outer space and the arms race in outer space.
Both sides agreed to hold maritime cooperation dialogues, further strengthen bilateral collaborations in such fields as maritime security, maritime search and rescue, marine scientific research, environmental protection, and so on, make joint efforts to deal with the increasingly prominent maritime non-traditional security threats, and reinforce the cooperation of escort missions in the Gulf of Aden and the waters off the Somalia coast to practically safeguard the international waterway safety as well as navigation freedom.
Both sides recognized that the strengthening of the exchanges in the field of defense between the two countries is conducive to the establishment of mutual trust, and thereby agreed to hold a new round of joint training later this year. Both sides have also decided to strengthen exchanges between the army, navy and air force of the two countries.
