NEW DELHI, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Another gangrape took place in India, this time in Mumbai. A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by four boys late Thursday evening, a senior police official said Friday.
"The victim was given to drink sedative-laced alcoholic beverage at one of her friend's place in suburban Vakola, where she visited with her woman friend," he said.
The four accused were also present at the time. After the girl lost consciousness drinking the beverage, the four boys took turns to rape her, said the official.
A medical test has confirmed gangrape of the girl, the official said on condition of anonymity.
The police has launched a manhunt to track down the four accused who are on the run since the incident, he added.
The latest sexual assault on a minor girl came a week after a five-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by two men in the national capital.
In December last year, another horrific and fatal gangrape of a 23-year-old medical student in the Indian capital had shocked this country, forcing the government to bring in a new law so as to ensure stricter punishment for rapists.
