LOS ANGELES, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Austrian film "Amour" won the Oscar Award of foreign language film Sunday night at the 85th Academy Awards Ceremony.
The French-language film by Austrian director Michael Haneke featured a retired music teacher and her husband's struggle with the debilitating effects of two strokes on both her health and her quality of life.
"Amour" was the fourth Austrian film ever got a Oscar nomination. It beat "Kon-Tiki" from Norway, "No" from Chile, " A Royal Affair" from Denmark and "War Witch" from Canada to win the golden statue.
Among the early winners of the Hollywood "Big Night," Malik Bendjelloul and Simon Chinn's "Searching for Sugar Man" won the Oscar Award of Documentary Feature.
"Brave" won the Oscar Award of Animated Feature Film, and the Award of Actor in Supporting Role went to Christoph Waltz who portrays Dr. King Schultz, a German bounty hunter in the pre-Civil War South who buys a slave to assist him with his work, in "Lincoln."
