PARIS, July 19 (Xinhua) -- European aerospace giant Airbus targeted to increase its orders by 25 percent for the whole year of 2013, a local report showed on Friday.
By the end of 2013, Airbus expected to collect more than 1,000 orders, up from previous target of 800 and 9 percent more compared to 2012 results.
For January-June period, the world's giant aircraft manufacturer registered 722 orders, behind its fierce competitor Boeing who reported 859 orders over the same period, according to the report.
During four-day showcase at the 50th International Paris Air Show held last June, Airbus claimed to have pocketed orders worth 68.7 billion U.S. dollars. It received commitments for 466 aircraft, 241 of which were in firm purchase orders.
