BAKU, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Azerbaijan's national flag carrier, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), said Friday it would launch a direct flight route linking Baku to Beijing in September. "All matters have already been agreed on and the flight will be opened in September," a AZAL spokesman said.

Flights will be operated by Airbus A-340 and Boeing 767 aircraft, twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, the spokesman said.

AZAL originally planned to launch the direct flight in May, but it was delayed for some reasons.

Together with Chinese partner-airlines, AZAL would also offer transfer service on Chinese domestic routes as from Beijing to Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, as well as to several cities in East and Southeast Asia, the spokesman said.
