HANOI, June 25 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnam International Fisheries Exhibition 2013 (Vietfish 2013) kicked off in southern Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday, attracting hundreds of domestic companies and foreign representatives of organizations in the fields.
Organized by the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (Vasep) and as the 15th expo held so far in the country, Vietfish 2013 has 230 goods stalls by 163 domestic and foreign companies involving in producing and trading aquaculture products.
In addition, representatives of foreign media and associations also showcased their publications, including the trade chambers of Canada and Sweden, Thailand Frozen Food Association, Shanghai Seafood Show, Food Industry Magazine of Singapore, the Asian Aquaculture Network magazine, and the Global GAP.
According to Vasep President Tran Thien Hai, Vietfish 2013 aims to introduce Vietnam's aquaculture and products to the world, as well as provide opportunities to local and foreign business men in the field to promote production, expand the markets and seek new trade partners.
During the three-day expo, among sideline events there will be a meeting held by the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade between Japanese importers and Vietnamese seafood managers and traders.
The expo will be open until June 27.
