HONG KONG, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong's Chief Executive C Y Leung said Tuesday that the government has made a report on its work in its first year as the new-term government is practical and will always review its progress and effectiveness.
Briefing reporters on Tuesday before attending an Executive Council meeting, Leung said the report includes matters that people are concerned about, including the economy and commerce, land and housing, transport, and people's livelihood.
He hopes people will provide comments to the government and support its work.
Apart from the government's achievements over the past 12 months, the report also covered many controversial topics, including land development, housing, aging problem and other issues in the society.
Leung said the government has made progress despite controversies, and it will not underestimate the difficulties and challenges ahead in policy implementation.
He said the government will continue to seek change, maintain stability and serve the Hong Kong people with pragmatism.
While the government had focused on bolstering economic development and improving people's livelihood in the first year, it will still have enough time to prepare for 2017's constitutional reform, Leung said.
Leung added the government has been listening to the community's views on the subject. People in Hong Kong can use different legal ways to express their views, he stressed, but it is crucial that they make constructive suggestions regarding policy implementation so that the government can facilitate change more easily.
