SINGAPORE, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks finished lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 29.58 points, or 0.9 percent, to close at 3,256.47.
A total of 2.8 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 41 billion Singapore dollars (1.13 billion U.S. dollars).
Losers outnumbered gainers 371 to 119, while 462 others finished unchanged.
The STI index gained 6.55 points, or 0.2 percent, to close at 3, 286.05 on Friday.
