TEHRAN, March 18 (Xinhua) -- The Iranian police is planning to begin using drones to monitor the borders in the eastern provinces of South Khorasan and Sistan-Baluchestan, Tehran Times daily reported on Monday.
The plan of monitoring borders will be extended to other border areas of the country in the near future, said the report.
On Sunday, Iran's border police commander Hossein Zolfaqari said that the police are seeking to acquire modern equipment so that the drones can patrol at night and in inclement weather.
