A new report issued by Alliance for Affordable Solar Energy (AFASE), a Swiss-headquartered agency, shows that anti-dumping duty on Chinese photovoltaic (PV) products will cost Europe jobs and money if imposed, according to People's Daily on Thursday.
The report says the European PV industry would lose more than 240,000 jobs and shut down about 200 enterprises in the next three years, should the tariff rates reach 60 percent.
Recently, representatives from more than 60 PV enterprises in Europe, including Britain, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Greece, attended a hearing held by the Europe Union. During the hearing, each firms expounded their reasons why they opposed the punitive tariff on Chinese PV products.
