JERUSALEM, May 8 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli army arrested 16 Palestinians in the West Bank overnight Tuesday for their alleged involvement in security-related offenses.
One suspect was arrested in Nablus, five in the village of Beit Furik, just outside Nablus, eight in villages near Ramallah, including Na'alin, Deir Abu-Mashal and Budrus, where a 16-year-old was shot dead during clashes with Israeli troops in mid-January, and two in the Daheishe refugee camp near Bethlehem, a military spokeswoman said on Wednesday.
She said the 16 men were arrested for carrying out "illegal activity" in the West Bank and are being questioned by security forces, but could not provide further details.
