Myanmar denies ship sinking off Philippine coast carries Myanmar flag

YANGON, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar has denied reports that the ship which sank off Philippine coast on Sunday flies with Myanmar flag, according to official media report Tuesday.

The New Light of Myanmar quoted the Department of Marine Administration as reporting that with the ownership from Singapore, the MVA Arita Bauxite flying the flag of Panama sank at sea off Bolinao Pangasinan province of the Philippines.

The Myanmar authorities released the name of the Myanmar dead victim who is U Myint Aung and those of 14 missing Myanmar crew members.

The report confirmed that nine other Myanmar crew members have been rescued.

The ship, bound for China, was loaded with coal.
