MOSCOW, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Outgoing U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has made incorrect, biased comments on Russia's position concerning a Syrian crisis settlement, the Foreign Ministry said Thursday.

"Hillary Clinton made a few statements to the National Public Radio that the Russians likely did not want to implement the Geneva Communique," ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich told a press briefing.

"We regret that it is not the first time when we heard American officials to wrongly interpret Russia's position on Syria," the spokesman said.

Clinton said in a Jan. 29 interview with NPR that "the Russians were unwilling to go forward ... They would still support him (Syrian President Bashar al-Assad) much to the great loss of the Syrian people."

Lukashevich noted that Russia was ready to discuss questions related with implementation of the Geneva Communique, "including the obligations of the outside players."

He added that Moscow has been supporting the UN-Arab League's envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi.
