KIEV, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on Monday accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and all cabinet ministers, said the presidential press service.

A number of government members, including Azarov, were elected to parliament in a recent election and had been expected therefore to resign from their cabinet posts.

The ministers will continue to fulfill their duties until a new government is formed, the press service said on its website.

Ukraine held parliamentary elections on Oct. 28, in which the ruling Party of Regions received 185 of the 450 seats in parliament.
