China is the first member of the ASEAN dialogue partners to join the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia and to establish strategic partnership with ASEAN, with other countries such as Japan, South Korea and India following suit by establishing a new relationship with ASEAN.
China donated 10 billion U.S. dollars as the China-ASEAN Investment Cooperation Fund, and provided ASEAN with credit support of 25 billion U.S. dollars to jointly tackle the international financial crisis.
China strengthens non-traditional security cooperation with ASEAN to jointly meet natural disasters, infectious diseases and other serious challengers.
East Asia’s uniqueness determines that regional cooperation has to be open and inclusive.
