World Heritage Sites in China (45, up to 2013)

The 37th session of UNESCO's World Heritage Committee (WHC) inscribed northwest China's Xinjiang Tianshan natural site on the World Heritage List on June 21, 2013. The next day, China's cultural landscape of Honghe Hani Rice Terraces was inscribed on the list, bringing the total number of World Heritage Sites in China to 45.

Since joining the International Convention Concerning the Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage in 1985, the number of world heritage sites in China has increased to 45, next only to Italy that has 49 on the List. Of these 31 are cultural heritage sites, 10 are natural heritage sites, and four are cultural and natural (mixed) sites.

Following is a list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in China. These sites comprise some of the most essential part of China's valuable and rich tourism resources.
