The number of China's Internet mobile phone users has reached 420 million, of which 372 million are online video users, an increase of 14.3 percent over the previous year.
Internet video users have accounted for more than 65 percent, and the usage rate of mobile video is 32 percent of the mobile Internet uses, up 9.5 percent from 2011. Ranking only second to mobile microblog, mobile video has become the highlight of mobile phone applications in 2012, according to data released from the news conference of the blue book China New Media Development Report (2013).
Closely related to politics, economy, culture, the new media is a “strategic development heights” for every countries. At present, the number of global Internet users has reached 2.5 billion, and more than 6.4 billion people are mobile phone users.
Data show that China has 578 million Internet users and more than 1.1 billion mobile phone users. As of the end of December 2011, the number of Internet video users in China increased to 325 million, an annual growth rate of 14.6 percent.
The number of netizens has grown to 63.4 percent from 62 percent in 2010. Video has become the fifth largest Internet usage mode in China.
