"Most beautiful birds of China" spotted in Fujian province

Members of a photographers association in Wuping county, southeast China's Fujian province recently captured photos of blue-throated bee-eaters, otherwise known as the Merops viridis, in Kongxia village of Wuping county, located in the Liangye Mountain National Nature Reserve within the province. The Merops viridis is hailed as the "most beautiful bird of China.

Black-necked crane population exceeds 8,000 in SW China’s Tibet

The endangered black-necked cranes have seen their population increase from less than 3,000 to over 8,000 in southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region in recent years, indicating the ongoing improvement in the ecological environment. This improvement is attributable to the country’s efforts in protecting the species and its habitats.

Yunnan snub-nosed monkey born in SW China nature reserve

A Yunnan snub-nosed monkey was born in Xiangguqing at the Baima Snow Mountain National Nature Reserve in Deqin county, southwest China’s Yunnan province, on Aug. 20, which brings the total number of monkeys in a troupe named “Erji” to seven.
