Jinjiang City, headed for the future (4)

China.org.cn)  09:38, April 23, 2013

Nevertheless, Jinjiang keeps track of its cultural heritage (employment of culture), for example, through its "Wudianshi" project. The project, which launched in 2012, focuses on the re-construction of the city’s original hutong area; that is to say, it relocates the original Ming and Qing Dynasty (1368-1912) buildings, renovates them, and in doing so recreates the hutong in a city government-protected area. Such a massive undertaking requires much effort and dedication, yet, so far, it seems to be running smoothly with a mixture of traditional Jinjiang and modern comfort already starting to appear in the area.
