Additionally, Jinjiang has undertaken a wide spectrum of projects in the industrial, educational, economic and social fields in order to create a prosperous safe haven for all its citizens, as demonstrated by its Technology Center. It describes its overall vision as the "Rise of a New City," and aside from mere industrial planning, focuses heavily on "proper" employment, the employment of culture, equal healthcare for all, harmonious relocation and environmental protection.

Jinjiang aims to construct a city for its citizens. In terms of industrial planning, it continues to promote its leather, shoe and clothing reputation, but has also, for example, advanced its packaging industry (from candy wrappers to books and calendars), developed up-to-date manufacturing materials and expanded the heavy (agricultural) machinery manufacturing industry. "Proper employment" then refers to the right to work for all citizens, including proper housing, benefits and work circumstances.
