"They (the West and Israel) are trying to create a rift between Islamic countries in the region. They are also trying to create unrest in the countries that are in the frontline of resistance movement against the Zionist regime," he added.
The Iranian official further called on the regional countries to work toward the establishment of security and stability via cooperation.
Meanwhile, an Iranian deputy foreign minister said Thursday that Israel should wait for the consequences of its recent aggression on Syria.
Condemning the Wednesday attack of Israeli fighter jets on Syria, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Thursday that "The attack on Syria shows the common goals of the Zionist regime and the terrorists," according to semi-official Mehr news agency.
Amir-Abdollahian said "The parties that always have taken aggressive position against Syria should now take serious measures and decisive stance against this invasion."
He ALSO urged UN chief Ban Ki-moon to adopt effective measures against the Israeli move.
On Thursday, Russia expressed deep concern over reported Israeli airstrikes against targets in Syria, saying that such attacks, if proved true, violate the UN Charter and are unacceptable.
Syria's Foreign Ministry summoned on Thursday the leader of the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) and filed an official complaint about the Israeli attack that targeted THE Syrian military research center in Damascus a day earlier.
