Unit 3: Internationalization
Galleries from Taiwan, Hong Kong and ten more countries including America, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Japan, Thailand, Korea, North Korea, Malaysia, Australia entered 798 Art District; except for these international galleries or galleries from abroad, many domestic galleries also curated numerous international exhibitions during the last ten years.
Artworks of many international famous artists are displayed in 798, including Immendorff, the representative artist of Neo-Expressionism of Germany, Andy Warhol, the representative artist of American Pop Art, Freud, the Psychoanalysis Painting master, Tatsuo Miyajima from Japan, female artist Kim Soo Ja from Korea, and Chen Zhen, a Chinese artist in France. Some national large scaled exhibitions are also attracted into 798, such as "Cuba Avant-garde, Beijing 2010" exhibition held in Xin Dong Cheng Space for Contemporary Art, and "The 11th Hour: An Exhibition of Contemporary from India" held in Tang Contemporary Art Centre in 2010.
Unit 4: Symbiosis
Influenced by the avant-garde contemporary art and international art, exhibitions of 798 Art District gradually became diversified. Except for contemporary art, retrospective exhibitions of some masters, academic exhibitions, sculpture and painting exhibitions of traditional schools, historical photograph exhibitions as well as art design exhibitions composed a diverse picture of exhibition together. For example, "Zhang Guangyu's Art Retrospective Exhibition" held by Bai Ya Xuan Art Centre in 2012, "Weng Naiqiang, Replay: Images from the Cultural Revolution" held by 798 Photo Gallery in 2006 and others.
