Who will you remember when looking back 2012? (4)

Things behind a person

The active micro-blog users and a large number of real-name whistle-blowing resulted in dismissal of Yang Dacai and Chongqing official Lei Zhengfu, and the downfall of Li Chuncheng was interpreted as an important signal that the central government is intensifying the anti-corruption efforts.

A lot of stories will appear in China every day, which are happy or sad, plain or tortuous.

Territorial dispute behind a man

Speaking of 2012, you may also recall that Li Baodong, China’s ambassador to the United Nations, refuted the Japanese representative’s unfounded claim by comparing Japan’s “illegal purchase” of the Diaoyu Islands to “money laundering.” A large number of Chinese citizens also participated in anti-Japanese protests on the slogan “Diaoyu Islands belong to China.” Behind this is the islands dispute between China and Japan.

The media have shaped our world. Some people have become famous for various reasons, but most people remain silent and unknown. 2012 has been a year of smile, tears, surprise, and dullness for most people, including you and me.

Maybe we cannot represent China, or our cities, groups, or industries, and do not have many stories to share. However, we also deserve to be remembered because everyone is part of the vast world. China is where you stand, and China cannot be dark when you hold the light.
