Bolt makes Olympic athletics history |
Jamaican sprint maestro Usain Bolt anchored Jamaica's 4x100m relay team to victory in a new world record time of 36.84 seconds at the London Olympic Games.
The atmosphere in the Olympic Stadium soared to a new high for the 4x100 men's final, where the Jamaican quartet slashed 0.2 seconds off their own world mark.
The triumph also means Bolt has now claimed the incredible sprint treble of 100, 200 and 4x100 relay in London and Beijing. He wrote his name in the Olympic history books as the first man ever to win the 100 and 200 meter titles in successive Olympic Games.
