Macao expo to showcase products from 9 Portuguese-speaking countries

MACAO, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) will host a trade exhibition featuring products and services from nine Portuguese-speaking countries from Oct. 21 to 24, as part of the SAR's efforts to promote trade and industrial cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.

The 2026 Portuguese-Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao), or PLPEX, will occupy about 8,000 square meters at The Venetian Macao's Cotai Expo, according to the SAR's commerce and investment promotion institute.

Five zones will cover cross-border e-commerce, agriculture, marine technology and related industries, food and beverages, and professional services.

The e-commerce zone will connect businesses with online platforms, logistics and marketing services to help them reach markets in the Chinese mainland and Portuguese-speaking countries. Service providers from Macao and Hengqin will also help companies from Portuguese-speaking countries establish operations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Three business matching sessions will focus on agricultural supply chains, wine and spirits, and coffee. The program also includes industry forums, tastings and a coffee bean competition.
