China, Central Asia hold ministerial meeting on public security, internal affairs

BEIJING, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- China is ready to work with Central Asian countries to make the China-Central Asia ministerial conference mechanism on public security and internal affairs a model of cooperation in all fields between China and Central Asian countries, Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong said Monday.
Wang made the remarks while delivering a keynote speech at a meeting of the China-Central Asia ministerial conference on public security and internal affairs in Beijing.
Wang said China is willing to work with Central Asian countries to actively implement the four major global initiatives, vigorously carry forward the China-Central Asia Spirit, jointly combat the "three evil forces", deepen practical cooperation in areas such as combating transnational crimes, immigration management, protection of overseas interests and law enforcement capacity building, and strengthen security for major projects of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
During the meeting, the heads of delegations from the five Central Asian countries delivered speeches, expressing their willingness to implement the outcomes of the meeting, deepen law enforcement and security cooperation, and contribute to lasting security and prosperity in the region.
On the same day, Wang met separately with the ministers of internal affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
