Chinese battery giant CATL partners with Türkiye's Togg to develop new EV platform
ANKARA, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Turkish electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Togg has signed a cooperation agreement with Chinese battery giant CATL to jointly develop a new platform for its upcoming B-segment EV family, according to local media reports and a CATL press release published Thursday.
Under the agreement signed Wednesday, CATL will provide its advanced "Bedrock" chassis technology, marking its first international deployment. Togg will take an active engineering role, tailoring the platform to its own product specifications, digital architecture, and user experience goals.
Three new models are planned under the partnership, with mass production expected to begin gradually from 2027, CATL said in the press release.
Togg led Türkiye's EV market in 2025 with 39,020 units sold, the Turkish semi-official Anadolu Agency reported, citing industry data.
CATL, one of the world's largest EV battery makers, launched its "Bedrock" chassis in late December 2024.
