JERUSALEM, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese automaker FAW Group on Monday launched a new electric car model of its luxury brand Hongqi in Israel, Hongqi's official importer and dealership Samelet said.
The Hongqi E-HS5 is available in Israel in three versions, equipped with either a 62-kWh or 85-kWh battery. It offers a range of 426-550 km and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 to 7.3 seconds.
Having entered the Israeli market in 2022, Hongqi now expands its EV lineup with this latest model, joining three other electric vehicles. In the past year, the brand sold 841 EVs in Israel.
Chinese automakers dominated Israel's electric car market in 2025, accounting for 79.2 percent of its total sales.
