Chinese embassy donates teaching materials to Guinea-Bissau school
BISSAU, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Embassy in Guinea-Bissau has donated a batch of teaching materials to the Kwame Nkrumah National High School in the capital, Bissau, the embassy said Wednesday.
The donation includes three printers, two scanners, 100 school backpacks, 900 notebooks, and 1,000 pens, according to a statement from the embassy.
"This support symbolizes the profound friendship between the two countries and contributes to students' learning," said Chinese Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau Yang Renhuo during the handover ceremony held at the embassy.
Yang said that China's support for local students also includes scholarship opportunities, reaffirming the commitment to "strengthening the ties of cooperation and friendship between the two peoples."
For his part, Jose Issa Balde, principal of the high school, expressed gratitude for the donation and the scholarships, urging students to "work harder" and make full use of the opportunities provided by the embassy.
